Growing up with my father, who was a journeyman carpenter, influenced my appreciation for craftsmanship. I was consistently impressed by his ability to transform blueprints into remarkable structures. At the age of 13, I embarked on my own journey by constructing a fly tying kit, which has remained a cherished possession for 47 years. This kit, designed as a compact suitcase with a drop-down table and organized compartments, not only fueled my interest in fly fishing but also ignited a lifelong passion for creating with my hands.
With years of experience in crafting furniture for friends and family, I have found my true passion woodturning, I got the "TURNING BUG". This art form allows me to unwind after a long day, as I see the beauty of the wood reveal itself on the lathe. I use both local and exotic woods to create distinctive pieces that showcase the natural beauty of the wood.
Each new piece selected for the lathe provides valuable learning experiences, then again, do we ever stop learning? At this time I'm not accepting commission work due to my full-time employment, but I anticipate exploring that opportunity in retirement. With my children now grown and out following their dreams, its now just me & my wife and our 2 dogs "Simon & Roxie". Thank you for visiting, and remember.
"Keep turning!"
